Smith suffered an avulsion fracture of the knee in Wednesday's practice and needs surgery, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported

Following the injury during the practice on Wednesday, Dallas Cowboys may continue without Smith up to December.

As per Ian, Smith won't be back on the field until December, if at all this season for he is set to undergo surgery on Friday.
