This renowned Tennis legend Roger Federer made the announcement on Thursday that he is retiring from the sport.
Roger Federer made this announcement through a video on Twitter after various surgeries and injuries for 3 years.
According to this Tennis legend, his body is messaging him that he need to rest, "My body's message to me lately has been clear."
"I have played more than 1,500 matches over 24 years. Now I must recognize when it is time to end my competitive career." Roger said.
Federer last played at Wimbledon 2021, after which he had a third medical procedure on his right knee. He recently had two medical surgeries on a similar knee in 2020.
Roger will play at next week's Laver Cup in London, where he will represent Team Europe alongside Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray.
Federer is the third most improved and most renowned male tennis player ever, bringing home 20 Huge homerun singles championships.
