How Do YouTubers Make Money?
4. Ad Revenue – YouTube Partner Program
This is the most common way that most YouTubers are making money. However, for a beginner on YouTube, you will not be eligible for this method of earning.
If you are a beginner, you can start selling courses and books and start affiliate marketing. That’s the route most beginners are following.
However, when you have reached 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 public watch hours, be sure that you are an eligible candidate for monetization on YPP.
The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) will send an email to you inviting you to start monetizing your YouTube channel when you hit 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours.

If you have not received their email, just go to your YouTube studio and click on monetization on your left and you will see the apply button.
You will be required to connect your YouTube with an AdSense account and agree to their terms and conditions. After that, they will review your application and within 30 days, they will respond to you.
After the approval, you will have a new tab in your dashboard showing the amount of revenue you are getting. It is called ad revenue because it is a result of showing ads to your viewers.
Your ad revenue is usually affected by various factors including the geographical location of the viewers, the duration of the video, the number of ads in the video, the ad view duration, and the niche of your content.
So, how do YouTubers make money? Through ad revenue where YPP shows adverts on their videos.
