The former prime minister of Kenya, Mr. Raila Odinga, finally makes a statement after the high court in Kenya made the final ruling.
The ruling came after Mr. Odinga rejected the election results announced by the electoral body in Kenya.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) body announced the deputy president Mr. William Ruto,
as the president elect of the general election held in the country on August 9th 2022. This is after gathering over 7.1 million
votes. Mr. Raila Odinga did not agree with the IEBC announcement by its chairman, Mr. Wafula Chebukati.
It will be remembered that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in Kenya was divided in the last minute
"Our lawyers preferred irrefutable evidence, and the facts were on our side. Unfortunately, the judges saw it other wise," he said.
"We have always stood for the rule of law and the constitution. In this regard, we respect the court's opinion although we vehemently disagree with their decision today," he said.
The four Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) body members claimed that the results are opaque and not genuine.
This brought tension in the nation after the Chairman of the IEBC announced Mr. William Ruto as the winner of the election.
